Leaven is now a free, electronic publication. With much excitement we launched the first electronic version of Leaven (affectionately known as E-Leaven) on December 18, 2008. While the Leaven you anticipated in your mailbox is a thing of the past you can still look forward to finding Leaven’s same thought-provoking writing and independent Catholic voice in your e-mail inbox. You can access E-Leaven articles now! Featured articles from Leaven e-newsletters will be available to read on this web site. Click here to read E-Leaven articles to date. E-Leaven articles are also accessible through the Features menu. Haven’t subscribed yet? Click here to subscribe free to the new electronic Leaven today. Already subscribed? Thank you! If you subscribed before August 30, 2009 and have not received an electronic Leaven, please check your Junk Mail or Spam filter and add editor@LeavenDenver.org to your e-mail’s address book or list of authorized senders. As stated above, featured articles from Leaven e-newsletters will be available to read on this website. However, electronic mailing still has associated costs and we need to increase our e-mail distribution to justify those expenses. Please tell your friends and associates about E-Leaven and urge them to subscribe. Your thoughts and words are Leaven. Please consider adding your voice. Our submissions page has details on submitting articles for publication. Donations are now our sole means of support but we still have administrative costs for producing E-Leaven and keeping this website operating. Would you please consider making a donation to support Leaven? Any amount helps. Click here for donation options. |
As an independent Catholic voice in the Rocky Mountain region, Leaven is a forum for substantive conversation on spirituality and faith, peace and justice, church and society. Inspired by the spirit of Vatican II, Leaven embraces a vision of an inclusive, just and accountable church.
Since 1992, our bi-monthly Leaven newsletter has expressed a vision of Catholic life appropriate to the times in which we live. We are distressed when some voices are silenced and when our brothers and sisters of other traditions are demeaned. Therefore, we seek to offer a voice to all who wish to share the experiences of their spiritual journey.
As an extension and enhancement of our Leaven newsletter, the LeavenDenver web site continues the tradition of offering challenging, thought-provoking articles and more interactive features that might not be found in a local diocesan publication.
We welcome your feedback and invite you to help us make this a place of dialogue, support and challenge while facing crises in the church and throughout the world.
With the constructive contribution of our many voices, and with hearts
open to God's empowering Spirit, we believe a Phoenix can and will rise
from the ashes.
